Hello, I'm Laura Barsay.  I started Homespun Birth in 2011 after I was asked by an acquaintance to support them as a doula and quickly learned it was my calling. I have been working gratefully within a co-op of wonderful doulas ever since. I am an Informed Beginnings™ childbirth educator, as well as a birth and  postpartum doula. I am Reiki certified

I & II and currently working towards Reiki master teacher. I trained with DONA International for birth work, SBD for bereavement training & Tranquil Transitions Placenta Services for placenta encapsulations. I live in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago with my awesome spouse and our two amazing children.

When not talking about birth with anyone who indulges me; I crochet too many things, build tiny houses, & travel to places near and far.
